Louisburg, NC – The ASA Brookyn Avengers football team went on an overnight trip to travel to North Carolina to play against junior college Louisburg Hurricanes.
Although the Avengers didn't have much success on the first drive on offense, they completed a pass at the endzone for a touchdown (received by #87 Messiah Diggs) on their second drive. Louisburg responded back with a touchdown on their next drive to even up the score. With the score at 7, the Hurricanes were unable to again put points on board for the rest of the game.
Although the Avengers had their pass intercepted at the end-zone on their next drive, they scored off the quarterback (#1 Nasir Boykin) after getting the ball back to go up 14-7 at the end of the 1st quarter. In the Avengers starting drive of the 2nd quarter, #1 Nasir Boykin again managed to score a touchdown after Louisburg fumbled the ball during kick-off. The Avengers entered half-time up 21-7.
Once again on the Avengers opening drive of the 3rd quarter, the offense was able to score a touchdown, with #10 Thomas Campbell catching the pass for a TD (28-7). To end the quarter, #31 Demaje Carter intercepted a pass for a touchdown (35-7). In the final quarter of the game, the Avengers scored two more touchdowns, both from the Avengers quarterback #1 Nasir Boykin's, his third touchdown of the game, and #7 Tyrell Jackson. The Avengers win the game 49-7 after more than half the points came off of rushing touchdowns from the Avengers quarterbacks.
