Promoted to Head Coach Coach in the Spring of 2012, Mike Grudge has transformed the men's soccer team at ASA into a nationally recognized program with the potential to reach the NJCAA Division I National Championships year in and year out.

In 2014, the Avengers reached their third Region XV-Divsion I Championship match in a row, ending the season with an overall record of 10-5.

2013 was a monumental year for the Avengers.  ASA would finish the regular season with a 10-1 overall record, heading into the playoffs with momentum.  ASA won their first ever Region XV-Division I championship by defeating rival, Monroe College, in dramatic overtime fashion, qualifying them for the Northeast Districts.  The Avengers continued their run by winning the Northeast District Championship, punching a ticket to the 2013 NJCAA Division National Championships in Tyler, TX.

Grudge led the 2012 Avengers to a program-best 12-2-2 record, finishing tied for 1st in Region XV play. The 2012 season produced several highlights, including the program's first victory over rival Monroe College, its first season being nationally ranked (peaked at #15), and a defense that recorded nine shutouts & allowed eight goals in 16 games.

Grudge spent his first year at ASA (2011-12) as an Assistant Coach. He was named Interim Head Coach at the conclusion of the Avengers’ 2011 campaign.

Prior to his arrival at ASA, Coach Grudge spent eight seasons as Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach at NCAA Division II powerhouse Dowling College, where the program captured a National Championship in 2006, became a National Finalist in 2008, and was a National Semi-Finalist in 2003 and 2004.

Before Dowling, Grudge was also an Assistant Coach for five seasons at Stony Brook University, helping them to their first ever Division I Top 25 ranking.  The same nationally ranked team finished with a record of 12-4-2, the most wins ever in the program’s history.

Coach Grudge also spent time as the Head Coach at New York City Technical College. During his ten-year head coaching tenure at City Tech, he was named CUNY Coach of the Year three times and led the team to five conference championships. His teams compiled a record of 82-48-19 with ten consecutive NJCAA Region XV Tournament appearances.

As a soccer player, the Sheffield, England native competed for the Sheffield United FC Junior Blades, the Sheffield Boys and the three-time Sheffield City Champion Newfield Boys.
