Herkimer, NY-----The ASA College men's basketball team pulled out an exciting 65-64 victory in the championship game of the Herkimer CC "Philly" Tournament over Herkimer.  ASA improves to 14-3 with the win.  Herkimer falls to 13-2 with the loss.

In a game that went back and forth throughout, ASA would have the last say on a deflected pass from Eian Davis that sophomore Quillar Marion would come up with underneath the basketball for the go-ahead lay-in with a little over five seconds remaining.  Herkimer would quickly in-bound the ball and call a timeout with a little over two seconds remaining.  The Avengers made one last solid defensive stand to not allow Herkimer to even get a shot off.

ASA led by as many as eight points with a little under seven minutes remaining after a Daquan Brickhouse lay-up.  The Generals would fight back to tie the game with two minutes remaining in the contest.  The Avengers would retake the lead on a three-point field goal by freshman Percy Davis.  On the next possession, Herkimer's Jonathan Feiler would knock down two free throws to cut the ASA lead to one.  The Generals would then get a stop leading to a Dequan Jefferson lay-up with fifteen seconds remaining for the one point lead.  ASA would score and win the game on the next possession.

ASA was led by sophomore Daquan Brickhouse who finished with 13 points who would be named the Tournament MVP.  Sophomore guard Eian also had a stand-out performance for the Avengers finishing with the 13-point 12-assist double-double.  Sophomore swing-man Rysheen Dorn would also reach double-figures finishing with twelve points.

Sophomore forward Victor Ljuljdjuraj was also named to the All-Tournament team ending the weekend with 27 points and 14 rebounds.

The Avengers will be back on the court at rival Monroe College's homecourt on Tuesday, January 15th.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm, following the women's game as part of a double-header.
