Coach Hernandez was named the first ever baseball coach for ASA College- Miami in May 2014.  He will be responsible for all operations related to the expansion program that expects to start play in the Spring 2015.  

Hernandez brings a decade of Florida high school coaching experience to ASA.  He has spent the last five years as the head coach at Hialeah High School.  During his stint with the Thoroughbreds, his 2011 team reached the State Final Four, and in 2013 he was named the Miami Dade H.S. Class 8A District 13 Coach of the Year.  He has had a number of his former players go on to play college and professional baseball including Rangel Ravelo and Nestor Cortes who were drafted out of Hialeah by the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees respectively.  Also during his time at Hialeah, Hernandez was asked to be a Team USA field scout.  

Very adept to the baseball scene in the Miami area and beyond, Coach Hernandez also held coaching positions at Coral Gables, Miami Springs, and American high schools.  

Coach Hernandez holds a B.A. in Marketing Communications and is married to his wife, Olly.  The proud parents have a son and a daughter.
